All BCAP Summer Camp staff members are First Aid and CPR certified. One adult senior counselor, two junior counselors, and two CITs accompany campers at all times, in addition to the professional educators leading the activities at each institution. Meet our Directors

Ingrid Otting, BCAP Director

Ingrid Otting, Manager of Education Programs and BCAP Director, is responsible for all aspects Heart of Brooklyn’s educational programming, including the implementation of Brooklyn Cultural Adventures Program (BCAP)Summer Camp, HOB’s signature educational summer camp. Ms. Lazerwitz received her B.A. from Macalester College in English/Creative Writing and Sociology, and has worked extensively in both the public school system and the non-profit art world in the U.S. and abroad. Most recently, she taught History and Performing Arts with the Arts and College Preparatory Academy, and directed an arts day camp for Days of Creation Arts for Kids.

Elizabeth Dunn, BCAP  Associate

Elizabeth Dunn, Brooklyn Cultural Adventures Program (BCAP) Associate, is responsible for supporting BCAP Summer Camp, BCAP Express, and BCAP After-School programming, facilitating the BCAP registration process, and assisting the BCAP Director.  She received her B.A. from Boston College, her M.Ed. in Secondary English from Brooklyn College, and is now completing an M.A. in School Counseling from NYU.  Ms. Dunn served as a New York City Teaching Fellow and taught English at a Brooklyn high school from 2002-2004.  She currently works as a school counseling intern and Health teacher at Bard High School Early College.  Ms. Dunn has a range of education experience in adult literacy, private tutoring, and as a judge for the National Scholastic Writing Awards.  She is also a product of summer camps, and spent many happy summers in the Adirondacks as both a camper and counselor.
